York is one of Britain's most beautiful historic walled cities. Situated in the North of England, its history spans back some two thousand years to Roman times.

York has many such attractions, as well as a wide variety of interesting shops, views and entertainments. It's history goes back as far to Roman times, when they set up their provincial capital there. Through the ages York has grown, and it's medieval history is clearly evident when walking through its streets making it seem almost a magical city with so many intriguing shops and attractions.

Amongst the many styles of architecture you will find in York, Fairfax house stands as a classic example of Georgian elegance.

Established in 1919, Betty’s is famous for its mouth-watering cakes and pastries, confectionery and exotic teas and coffees. (pictured)
