Diane von Fürstenberg, formerly Princess Diane of Fürstenberg is a Belgian-born American fashion designer best known for her iconic wrap dress. She initially rose to prominence when she married into the German princely House of Fürstenberg, as the wife of Prince Egon of Fürstenberg. Following their divorce in 1972, she has continued to use his family name.

Her fashion company, Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) is a global luxury lifestyle brand available in over 70 countries and 45 free-standing shops worldwide, with the company's headquarters and flagship boutique located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.

Presenting an award to Beyoncé in New York recently, Diane could have speaking of herself when she said.:

“A disruptive genius fearless in her art, she is a risk taker, a rule maker and a rule breaker,” Diane told the crowd. “The image of a woman being in charge has never looked more glamorous and more desirable…” That woman in charge was none other than Beyoncé, to whom Diane presented the prestigious Fashion Icon Award at last night’s CFDA Awards. Once an intimate affair at Lincoln Center, the event got a serious upgrade this year, moving to the Hammerstein Ballroom which was transformed for the evening, complete with a raspberry carpet, an Instagram-powered flower wall for epic Boomerangs, a glamorous seated dinner and, of course, awards recognizing fashion’s biggest stars, from game changing up-and-coming designers like Brandon Maxwell, to internationally lauded names like Marc Jacobs and Alessandro Michele."

An essential fashion statement, the culotte is also a super versatile piece for summer: it provides the comfort of a short, but covers you enough for the office… it’s a chic alternative to a cocktail dress. Basically, with subtle tweaks you can wear this style anywhere summer takes you.
For a rooftop party or evening in Montauk, you’ll be immune to gusts of wind in the Asheton culotte with a silk tee, plus a colorful crossbody and perforated cage heel. Come Monday morning, re-wear them with a silk tie blouse, pumps and a petite navy tote. We’re so in love with this style it also comes in light chambray for high summer, and a soft navy leather for transitioning to fall.
